A short class to help us transition from the busy day to a peaceful, meaningful evening. Explore the nature of the mind, inner peace, and its connection to our happiness.

 

Session lasts 45 minutes with an experienced meditator guiding us through simple breathing meditations, with a short teaching from Buddhist practice and a contemplative meditation at the end. 

£4 for non-members / free for members.

Peace of Mind

Simple, guided breathing meditations with an emphasis on clearing the mind to let go of tension and overthinking, leaving us feeling clearer and mentally rejuvenated.

This class is perfect for beginners and those wishing to deepen their practice.

Meditation Class

Each class is a stand-alone session offering simple, guided meditations and practical advice from Buddha’s timeless wisdom, presented for modern daily life.


You’ll learn how to:

  • Calm your busy mind

  • Let go of worry and irritation

  • Improve focus and resilience

  • Feel more relaxed and positive
     

The talks are easy to follow and suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. You can come to any class — there’s no need to attend every week.

What is an Evening Meditation Class?

  • Guided meditation: Learn to settle your mind and connect with inner peace.

  • Short talk: Practical Buddhist advice on topics such as patience, letting go, compassion, and finding happiness from within.

  • Reflection: Time to rest quietly and absorb what you’ve learned.
     

You can sit on a chair or meditation cushion — whatever feels comfortable.

Gen Kelsang Lamchen

Resident Teacher

Gen Kelsang Lamchen is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Bristol. She has studied, practised and taught Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 25 years. Gen Lamchen has a wealth of meditation experience and presents Buddha's teachings in a clear and practical way, making them easy to integrate into daily life.
