Discover the practice of chanted prayers, or puja, in a supportive, welcoming environment. Our sessions help you cultivate inner peace, wisdom, and compassion through the transformative power of prayer.
Using ancient prayers translated into English, we receive the blessings, protection, and guidance of the holy beings. We can make requests for ourselves or for others who need help or protection.
These spiritual practices create a strong connection with the Buddhas, and help us purify our negativity and fill our mind with positive, healing energy.
Everyone is welcome to attend these pujas, which are free to attend.

Heart Jewel is the daily puja or practice at Kadampa Centres throughout the world and includes two practices revealed by the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri.
The first is a special Guru yoga in which we visualise our Spiritual Guide as Je Tsongkhapa, who himself is a manifestation of Manjushri and make prayers and requests to purify negativity and accumulate merit, or positive energy. This prepares our mind for a period of silent meditation on Lamrim, or the stages of the path to enlightenment.
The second part of this practice is a method for relying upon the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. Through this, we can overcome obstacles to our practice and create favourable conditions so that we can nurture and increase our experience of Buddha's teachings.
This session includes 15 minutes of silence for unguided meditation on Lamrim, the stages of the path to enlightenment.

On the 8th day of the month we engage in Liberation from Sorrow, the beautiful chanted prayer practice of Arya Tara, a female Buddha who is the manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of all the Buddhas.
This special prayer includes 'Praises To The 21 Taras' which was composed by Buddha himself. Each of the 21 Taras is a manifestation of the principal Tara, Green Tara, also known as the Mother of the Conquerors.
