Amitayus Retreat

Weekend Retreat

Buddha Amitayus, the Buddha of Long Life, wisdom, and merit, has the power to bestow upon us immeasurably long life, profound wisdom and great good fortune. During the retreat, we will engage in beautiful chanted prayers, meditations, and mantra recitation requesting blessings for ourselves and others to enjoy a long, happy and meaningful life.

It is traditional for Kadampa centres to engage in a short retreat on this beautiful practice early in the year.

The special structure of retreat provides consistent familiarity with meditation, facilitates deep connection to our meditation objects and brings deeper transformation, leaving a lasting positive impact on our life.  Because retreat facilities immersion without distraction it is a powerful method for inner transformation.

Those unable to attend the entire retreat can book for individual full days, individual sessions however are not drop-in.  As this retreat is not guided we ask that participants attend the introduction.

Everyone is welcome  although some previous experience of Buddhist practice may be helpful.

Sessions last 1 hour Friday 7:30pm introduction Saturday and Sunday: 9am, 11am  2pm, 4pm

(TTP slot will be Amitayus retreat according to HYT)

The Path to Freedom

A half-day course of talks & guided meditations

In this busy world, our experiences of happiness are fleeting and short-lived, while inner peace eludes us completely.  Our negative states of mind, such as uncontrolled desire and anger, create endless problems for ourselves and others, and prevent us from fulfilling our deepest wishes.  Buddha's popular teaching on the Four Noble Truths offers a clear and simple solution, guiding us to an oasis of peace within our hearts.
