Immerse yourself in timeless words of wisdom from two highly revered Buddhist meditation masters - ancient teachings that are as relevant today as when they were first given. Practical and beautiful guides to transforming your life.
24th March to 14th April Venerable Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life
This famous and universally loved poem for daily living has inspired many generations of Buddhists and non-Buddhists since it was first composed in the 8th century. A journey from our present suffering and confusion to happiness and peace - sometimes challenging, always relevant and beautifully written.
'This precious human life, so hard to find/Offers the ultimate goal for living beings/ If we do not strive to accomplish this goal now/How will such a precious opportunity arise again?'
21st April to 12th May Advice from Atisha's Heart
Powerful and practical words of advice from the well-loved Buddhist master Atisha. By sincerely following his wisdom, we can maintain a calm and happy mind at all times and overcome our pain and problems. As Atisha himself said: 'You should consider this well because it is not just words from the mouth, but sincere advice from the heart'
You don't have to be a Buddhist to come along - people from all backgrounds can find inspiration from these teachings.
Classes include advice about starting and maintaining meditation practice, with guided meditations. Beginners are especially welcome.
Each class is designed to stand alone, so don't feel you have to attend all classes (although you'll get more out of it if you do!)
The teachings and meditation finish at 9.00pm - feel free to stay on for complimentary tea, biscuits and chat.
