We are trying to raise some money so that our resident cabinet maker can make us some nice shelves for the shrine of the Five Lineages of Dorje Shugden. You can be involved by supporting the raffle and/or the sponsored walk.

Sponsored Walk In The Mendip Hills Close to Bristol

Everyone Welcome to join in.
This is a very beautiful walk with pretty places and spectacular views. Quite hilly. 9 miles long.
It is to raise funds for Amitabha Centre. So any walking or sponsoring you can do would be greatly appreciated.
Sponsor forms available from Dave TJ & Jim Burford at Amitabha Buddhist Centre. Please get as many sponsors as you can. Its for a very good cause.

Meeting Places: Amitabha Centre. Leaving at 9am
Or Shipham Village main crossroads in front of The Miners Arms and Hansfords shop. This is the start of the walk. Leaving 10am.
Directions to Shipham from Bristol: A38 to Churchill. Through Churchill. After going uphill there is a big bend. Texaco Garage on Left just after bend. Road to Shipham ( New Road) is on left immediately after garage. Shipham is less than a mile down there.
Route Maps: Will be given out before the walk. Please follow them carefully. The route is quite complicated in places.
Food: Please bring a packed lunch and water.
Clothes: Please bring these too. The path is very varied and rough in places so please wear good footwear.
Picnic Spot: Car Park (Point 4 on walk map) on the B3134 is a lay-by. Two dirt paths lead into the fields from this lay-by. Take the left hand one and walk a few yards along there to where we will picnic for lunch about 1pm. Those not walking are very welcome to join the walkers here for a nice picnic. Please carry your own food to this picnic spot. Please see Dave TJ or Jim Burford beforehand if you are not walking and are unsure how to find this spot and we can give you a map.
