Buddha taught that everything depends upon the mind. To realize this, we must first understand the nature and functions of the mind.

During the course of the next few weeks we shall be looking at The Four Noble Truths and then developing a better understanding of what our mind is, where it is, and how it functions by investigating 'Understanding the Mind' by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Through our understanding of how the mind functions we are much better placed to accept happily difficult situations and also to enjoy fortunate experiences:

'When things go wrong in our life and we encounter difficult situations, we tend to regard the situation itself as the problem, but in reality whatever problems we experience come from our mind.'
Extract from the Introduction to 'Understanding the Mind'

24th March No class as venue unavailable.

31st March - 21st April
In these four classes we shall look at and mediate on The Four Noble Truths to understand the nature of our human existence.

28th April - 12th May
During these three weeks we can commence looking at the different types of mind, how they are generated and what effect they have on our lives. Through this understanding we can begin to bring our mind under control. Only in this way can we improve the quality of our life, both now and in the future.
